Monthly reporting

A letter you can read in one sitting.

Reporting is the center of the studio, not an attachment. Same sections every month. Dated work. Labeled figures. Empty stays empty. If we cannot measure it, it does not get a chart.

The specimen on this page is a concept example. It uses sample wording and unitless bars. It is not a client result, not a case study, and not a promise of similar numbers.

A closed cream booklet, steel ruler, and pencil on a walnut newsroom desk with world clocks behind. No readable client text. Concept still.

The six sections

  1. 01

    Cover

Business name, period, market, and who prepared the report.

  2. 02

    Work completed

A dated list of what actually shipped: pages, fixes, sends, ads, audits.

  3. 03

    Site & search notes

What changed on the site and in listings, plus anything blocked or waiting on you.

  4. 04

    Measurement

Only properties that are connected. Each figure is labeled. Empty stays empty.

  5. 05

    Recommendations

What we would do next, in order, with a reason. You can say no.

  6. 06

    Open questions

Decisions, access, or copy we still need. A report should not hide a stuck project.

Sample business

Market named in the letter · Period labeled for layout only

Illustrative copy and unitless bars. These are not visits, rankings, leads, or revenue.

Work completed

  • Published two service pages drafted in the prior period.
  • Corrected three title tags that did not match the page content.
  • Sent the monthly notes in this format.

Sample wording, not a client log.

Index only, to show how a chart sits in the letter. Connected properties would use labeled figures; empty properties stay blank.

Recommendations

Finish the remaining location page. Decide whether email is in scope next quarter. Sample wording only.

Open questions

Access to the listings login. Final phone number for the contact page. Sample wording only.

Cadence

One report per calendar month for active work. The period is named on the cover. If work pauses, reporting pauses. We do not invent a month of activity.

What gets measured

Only properties you have connected: the site, listings, email, or ad accounts in scope. Each figure is named in a measurement key so the letter and the tool agree.

What never appears

Guaranteed rankings. Projected leads. Awards. Testimonials we were not given. Charts that exist to fill a blank page.

Ask to see the format on your kind of business.

An inquiry can be “we need the report, and maybe the site.” Demo mode will not send it. It only shows how the form behaves.
